H i s t o r y: ZILTENDORF mentions 1316 for the first time been under the name Tzuluttendorph, at the edge of the Oderaue between Oder-Spree channel and the border river Oder, extends with its two local parts Ernst-Thälmann-Siedlung and Aurith over a surface of approx. 29 km ². From 1406 to 1817 (with exception of a six-year farm lease time) the village was in pin possession Neuzelle, following belonged it to the district Guben and starting from 1952 to the district of Fürstenberg(Oder) - later the district of Eisenhüttenstadt. Among the objects of interest of the place among other things the Evangelist village church with its two church-bells from that ranks 14th and 16th century, which after the total destruction in the world war 2, end of the 90's it was again established years.
To approx.1960 made the mill of Ziltendorf place, beside Müllrose, the important mill location in the periphery. At the local edge there was built in the fifties and sixties a large marshalling yard for the VEB Bandstahlkombinat "Hermann Matern" (today "ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt"). The “century flood” of the Oder river in the year 1997 flooded the entire Oderaue with the two local parts, which thanks of numerous donations and development aid were restored in the following years. Ziltendorf today: Beginning of this century, despite insufficient local finances, different “presenting objects” were established in the village center. So e.g. the new community center, the equipment-store of the volunteer
fire-brigade, the again established cemetary-wall as well as the reorganization of the war grave place. Traffic & tourism: Ziltendorf is coming to reach from direction Frankfurt (Oder) or Eisenhüttenstadt over the Bundesstrasse112 or with the regional express of the Deutsche Bahn AG, as well as over the regional airport Pohlitz. Well opened road- and way-net, with binding to the Oder-Neiße-cycle track, offers the possibility for the investigation of the closer environment to cyclists. So for example the Oderaue, the Pohlitzer lake-area or the nearby Schierenberg hill. For sporty manipulation the forest stadium in Ziltendorf with its tennis court as well as numerous fishing rod waters stand approximately around the place for order. |
